Quick Quotes Weekend

Karen and I went to our first Quick Quotes retreat in Carefree, AZ this weekend. We had no idea what to expect other than attending 10 classes throughout the weekend. Honestly, our schedules had been so hectic we were just happy to get away for a scrap weekend that we were'nt in charge of! Yippeee....Well I have to say we had an awesome time. The QQ team was great and it seemed like everytime we walked into the room they were handing out prizes or calling out our names. We each easily walked away with over $100 worth of free stuff and I thought it was well worth the price.

The classes were very fast paced and out of our "comfort" zone but also challenged us from just doing things the traditional way. We are hoping to work with QQ in the future for our retreats.

We also hung out with the THURSDAY THERAPY girls which made it extra fun!!! Went out for fabulous Steak at Mastro's Friday night and just laughed and hung out all weekend. Thanks TT for letting us hang with you !!!

Also met some women from Kaneohe, Hawaii...my home state. They flew all the way from Hawaii just for the retreat...We also saw a few other SCRAP SISTAZ there too and lots of other new people.

QQ also gave us a bunch of stuff to give to CROPS OF LUV for the Wish albums which was soooo generous of them.

All in all awesome weekend and can't wait to start planning our retreat for 2010!!!!!!

Fall Retreat was Awesome!

We had an amazing weekend with 21 croppers at the Mesa Hilton. We got to see our old friends, new ones and just hang out and crop all weekend long. We started at 9am on Friday and cropped non stop till midnight and then the Crop room opened at 6:30am and believe it or not we cropped until 6:30am Sunday! Deb Adler won the Early Bird prize...Kristi Villa won the Getting to Know You game on Friday. On Saturday Nichole from A Scrappin Affair came and brought us a lot of new stuff that had not even hit the stores yet...and of course we were all like vultures trying to get the "New Stuff". Our miracle worker Thelma came to massage us all Saturday afternoon to keep us going.

We played Bingo and had 5 winners all at once...I mean really who gets that lucky! Anyways after drawing names the top three winners were Michele Shipp and Susan Singh and Kristi again.

The contests entries Saturday night were also amazing. I was so glad that me and Karen didn't have to vote! Roberta Baker and Kelly Mueller tied for Best Travel/Vacation layout....Sherry Petrelli won for Best Cricut use and Kristi Villa won for Best Overall. Man Kristi was on a role!!! I'm thinking she shoulda bought a lottery ticket.

The Grand Prize went to Roberta Baker and special prizes went out to our 3 biggest supporters....Michele Shipp...Deb Adler and Kristi Villa for attending all 4 Scrap Sistaz events since we started this last year.

After midnight we tried to get the group going with some more sily games....Janet Meza and Rhonda Jones tied for "How Well do you know your Scrap Sistaz"... Janet also won the Word Jumble game at 3am in the morning!!!! I think I had 2 brain cells left at that time.

And Jody McNelis and Julie Lucian won our Last Man Standing Prize after staying up with us for 24 hours till our crop ended on Sunday at 6:30am!!!!!

Whew....we were beat but had a Fabulous time as usual and can't wait till next year.

We will be checking out hotels again in November and making decisions by the end of the year for our Summer 2010 dates.....Happy Croppin for now and thanks to everyone who came this weekend..We had a blast!!!

Fall update

Okay....so can't believe that it has been over a month since we did any blog on Scrap Sistaz stuff...but I have a great excuse. My hubby and I went to Paris and Italy for 2 weeks in September...no kids...no work....no laundry....it was fabulous! We ate some amazing food and saw great things and I will never forget. And of course I took a bazillion photos which means I will probably get to scrapbook this trip in 2012! anyways...it was a blast.

Can't believe its October and we are just two weeks out getting ready for our last Scrap Sistaz weekend of the year!!

I have to say that Karen and I love doing the retreats but we are so ready to take a break and enjoy what's left of the year. We will be concentrating on one big summer one next year again and start planning for that Nov/Dec.

Hope you are all doing well and Ciao for now!

Devine Memories Closing :(

As most of you probably already know, Devine Memories scrapbook store in Gilbert is closing it's doors on Aug 28th. Michelle Devine and her staff have been such AWESOME supporters of Scrap Sistaz and one of our main cropping places! We are so sad to be losing them and especially to be losing another scrapbook store in area. I guess I just can't stress how important it is to support our local mom and pop stores because we really need them.

It just won't be the same for us and we'll have to find a new "home" for our once a month get together's :( We wish Michelle and her family the best of luck in their future events and if you guys get a chance please stop by.

Devine Memories final farewell crop will be Friday Aug 28th from 6-11pm. If you can make it, please click on their link for more details.

Scrap Sistaz Shirts -Cafe Press

Well we thought we would order some Scrap Sistaz shirts so we would look extra cute at our Spring event this week. Since we heard the shirts ran small at Cafe Press we got a size bigger than we normally would and figured we'd be good. Wow...we were totally wrong! What we found out is that the "Jr" designation for shirts really means that you have to be like a size ZERO. Even the extra large Raglan Jr. design is probably more like a size medium. Not too mention if you wash it, be prepared to show off your belly :) But no worries, we added a similar shirt from the men's line so those of us over size ZERO can still wear the shirts:)

So if any of you purchase any Scrap Sistaz shirts at Cafe Press remember to order a size larger and let us know how it works.

p.s. Of course, my hubby thought the extra snug fit around my chest was perfect :)

No more junkmail

Wow...Wow...Wow This last week has been like Christmas going to the mailbox and picking up registration for our Summer and Spring events. Seriously, I am like a little kid in a candy store flipping through the junk mail and bills and finding all the mail addressed to the Scrap Sistaz ! I put them all in a pile and look to see who's coming from last year and who will be attending our event for the first time. I absolutely LOVE this part of the process, almost as much as shopping for all the prizes and giveaways for the retreats!! I just can't believe how fast registration is going. We just have a few spots left already for Summer and Spring retreats. So if you're out there and haven't sent in your registration don't wait...my mailbox is waiting for you :)

Saturday, January 31, 2009

Hello Scrap Sistaz,

Thank you so much for your interest in Scrap Sistaz! We had our first Scrap Sistaz Weekend retreat in August 2008 at the Sheraton Wildhorse Pass Resort with 61 women. We sold out in a week for that event and it was so much fun we decided to do two retreats this year.

We are currently registering for the spring retreat on April 17-19 at the Hilton East Mesa to coincide with the Creating Keepsakes convention in Mesa. The hotel rate is $109 per night based on single/double occupancy. The hotel will be providing a free shuttle to and from the convention center for those that would like to attend.

Our second Scrap Sistaz weekend is June 26-28 at Hyatt Gainey Ranch. We will be sending out registration for that event via email on February 13. The hotel cost per night single/double occupancy is $95, which is an amazing rate for this caliber of hotel!

Our registration cost for each event is $70 for the whole weekend. This includes some snacks, prizes, contests and giveaways and lots of fun. The crop room is open from Friday at noon and does not close till Sunday at 2pm. You can come and go as you please! Most scrappers either get a roomie to share hotel costs or bring their spouses/families along for a mini vacation.

Email us for the spring registration packet for the April event so you can see what we're all about and we hope you decided to join us. We would love to meet you at one of our Scrap Sistaz events!

Happy Scrapping!
