Scrap Sistaz Retreat 2011 Planning Underway!

Well the summer is officially over and the holiday season has begun( except for the 80-90degree temp outside). As for us, this means break time is over and we have to plan the weekend retreat for next year. Yipppeeee!!!!!
We have sent out our requests to the hotels and are now anxiously awaiting the responses to see where we'll be next year!!!!! We will be sending Save the Dates out by the end of November so you all will have plenty of time to plan your Summer vacation and Scrap Sistaz Weekend. We are so super excited and can't wait to see you all again!

Quick Quotes was a Blast

We went to Quick Quotes Private Reserve in Palm Springs last weekend and had so much FUN. Scrapped till midnight and took classes all day. We made some amazing flowers, learned some new techniques and hopefully some ideas that we can incorporate into our retreat next year!! Patsy and the rest of the Quick Quotes family was amazing we got so many FREE stuff throughout the whole weekend. Crops of Luv was there too and benefitted from the Charity Silent Auction Saturday night.

Janae even stayed part of the weekend and helped out with prizes and got to pick a bunch for free stuff to take home! SUPER FUN WEEKEND!!!!!!

Getting ready for 2011

Hey Everyone,

Can't believe how fast time flies! It seems like just yesterday we were finishing up the retreat and now our two month hiatus is over and we are getting ready to look at venues again for SCRAP SISTAZ SUMMER RETREAT 2011!!! It has been a crazy last couple months with Karen moving to San Diego but we are excited to start planning and shopping for next year.

We will be staying in Arizona and will hopefully narrow down our top 3 choices in the next month or so and then send out Save the Date info by the end of the year! Yipppeeee

WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND!!!

What an amazing weekend we had! The Scrap Sistaz Weekend Retreat was a huge success. We had the pleasure to hang out with 95 amazing women and 1 brave yet very creative man. Thank you, thank you, thank you Scrap Sistaz supporters. We have so much fun producing this event and just wish we had more time to spend with each of you. 2011 will be here in no time and we look forward to another amazing event....maybe 2 amazing events. Hotel Update

Well....you know that old saying "When life hands you lemons...make lemonade..." The Scrap Sistaz are making Lemonade!

We recently found out that Talking Stick Resort is behind in their final construction and we will need to relocate the Scrap Sistaz event. But don't worry... we have a great new location!!

The Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa in Chandler will be hosting our Scrap Sistaz event July 16-18! http://www.wildhorsepassresort.com

We truly believe you will be happy with the new location and urge you to check out the website or visit the hotel.

What you need to know:
** The only change is the location, everything else is the same.
** You DO NOT have to call Talking Stick Resort to cancel your reservations. They will move everything over to Wildhorse for us and new Sheraton confirmation numbers will be sent to you. ** The hotel room rate will still be the same at Wildhorse.
** The only other fee for Wildhorse Pass is a $3 a day housekeeping fee. Self parking is free.
** 10% discount on all treatment at AJI SPA - Call Donna Sampson at 602-385-5759 x8414 to book an appt.

We truly regret this change in venue so close to the event date but we believe you will have a fantastic experience at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort and Spa. CHAIR MASSAGE
When you're done with the Fabulous canvas class you can unwind with Thelma, our amazing massage therapist! She will be available for chair massages from 12:30-5:00 on Saturday, July 17. The cost is only $1 per minute with a 10 minute minimum. This is a great way to rejuvenate during the weekend. Just email us with your preferred time and we will sign you up!

6 Weeks to go!!!

On Friday we will be 6 weeks away from the "Summer Event"! We're planning all kinds of fun things for the group and can't wait to hang out with our "Sistaz" for the weekend. Over the next 6 weeks we'll send out lil' updates to prepare you for the big weekend. We will have optional activities available to you and we are always thinking of ways to keep things interesting while allowing everyone plenty of time to work/play.

Scrapology Closing!

Wow this is the 3rd Scrapbook Store this year closing and I am really bummed! If you get a chance to go by please do...everything is 65% off till the doors close April 30th. We will miss you guys, but glad Audrey you will be coming to our retreat this summer and can't wait to see what you get into next!!!

Summer Registration opens soon!

We are less than 1 week away from opening registration for the 2010 Summer Retreat at the Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale. We are REALLY excite about what we have to offer this year -- 6 feet of space per person, an amazing retreat location and a credit card option for payment! You'll see a Paypal option on the blog soon but please wait until general registration opens next Friday, February 26. We are still working out the kinks with the Paypal link. We look forward to an exciting event and can't wait to find out who plans to join us this summer.

SAD SCRAPBOOK DAY

Well, I am sure you have all heard by now....but I just found out TWO scrapbook stores will be closing by the end of this month....MADSCRAPPERS in Cave Creek and I-SCAP in Scottsdale!!!!!!!! I didn't get a chance to get to them to often because they are on the other side of town but I know some regular scrappers that will really miss these two stores. Karen and I have had some awesome partnerships with Patty at I-SCRAP and Jessica at MADSCRAPPERS too so we are really SAD to see them go!!!

We know times are tough for everyone right now, but I sure hope we don't lose any others this year. Remember to shop at the small stores instead of just the Big commerical ones because they need us to show them our LOVE!!

CHA in ANAHEIM was AWESOME!!!

I just got back last night from going to the Craft and Hobby Convention in Anaheim and it was crazy FUN! We went to the consumer show the first 2 days and then the trade show the next 3 days. I did a ton of Make n Takes, including some really cool jewelry and a screen printed shirt!

The best part was that I went with Crops of Luv, a non profit group that makes albums for the Make a Wish Foundation families after they have gone on their wish trips. It is an amazing and very rewarding experience to be a part of this group and we met so many companies that were touched and willing to help out this cause with their donations and support!!!! Scrappers are some of the most generous people I know and my experience totally confirmed this!!!!!

There were literally hundreds of make n takes and prizes being given away through the whole convention. At one point, I had on a Cricut chef hat and a Slice apron....trying to win prizes from their booths. It was pretty funny walking around watching all these women with things all over them that didn't match : ) I even tried to win a pink moped....hence the photo....but no luck. It paid off for my friend though, because she won 1 of the new Cricut Cake Expression machines that enables you to cut out fondant, gumpaste, etc to decorate cakes. It is the newest thing that won't be out in stores till April or May and she won one!!!!! Seriously...only 8 people in the country will have one and she is one of them....

Anyways super cool experience....got a bunch of prizes for our Summer Retreat that you guys will LOVE!!!! Yippeee...can't wait till next year!!!

2010 Summer Retreat

We are soooo excited about the event this year! We just inked a deal at the TALKING STICK RESORT in Scottsdale. It officially opens in April so it will be BRAND SPANKING NEW for our event. We have lots of great things planned for you but most of all we are thrilled to announce that this year……….................Wait for it.................
EACH PERSON WILL HAVE "6 FEET" OF CROP SPACE!!!!!!! Yiiipppppeeeee!!!!
